Marks For Questions

Q1-1/2

Q2-5/12

Q3-2/6

Q8-1/8

Did you get any media terminology wrong in the assessment? Make a note of it here for future revision:

In Q1 I Wrote that a tag-line was a magazine convention.

In Q2 i said that they "used serif for their Logo" The title was in serif not the logo wasn't in a serif font.

Look specifically at question 2 - pick out three points from the mark scheme that you didn't include in your analysis of the unseen Grazia magazine cover.

Colour palette

Royal green to further reinforce connotations that Kate Middleton is married into the Royal  family and emerald green is associated with the monarchy.

The shade of yellow again has connotations of happiness, success and achievement. The background is quite dark but allows the white, green and yellow to draw the readers’  attentions to the cover lines and central image.

5) Now look at question 4. Use the mark scheme to identify three points you could have made regarding how Tatler reflects British social and cultural values.

Social and cultural contexts:

Media products and the representations in them can be seen as a product of the social and  cultural context in which they are created.

Products must reflect the cultural values of their target audiences in order to be successful  but these may be diverse and can explain the differences in representation.
