2) What is the definition of an influencer?

a person or thing that influences another.

3) Give an example of an influencer and how many followers they have. Try and add some additional information, brand associations or other statistics if you can.

 Justin Bieber is known as one of the most “influential” social media users with his 37+ million followers.

4) How big is the influencer industry according to the article?

USD 7.36 billion in 2021

5) What are the problems associated with being an influencer?

Online Hate and Abuse. A challenge commonly faced by every social media influencer is learning how to deal with online trolls that tend to come from others who are envious of the creator's success.

6) Why is it suggested that audiences actually like being sold products by influencers?

According to the consumer survey, this is largely due to the more relatable content that they are seen to produce, according to 61% of consumers. A further 43% perceive them to have higher levels of engagement than other types of influencer, engaging them in discussions and responding to their comments.

7) What representation of beauty is often found on Instagram or other influencer sites?

Social media promotes photoshop, filters, plastic surgery, and makeup. Young users believe that the fabricated appearances that these methods create are natural. So, when young people can't look like Instagram models, it impacts their self-esteem and mental health greatly.

8) What is YOUR opinion on influencers? Are they a positive or negative influence on our society and culture? Why?

It is a double dged sword sometimes they can influence people to do the right thing but on the other hand they might cause problems by making their fanbase do something unmoral and they could receive hate for it
