Blog Feedback and Learner Response

WWW: Having joined us a little late and then missing two weeks due to Covid I think you’ve done a good job trying to catch up. You’re not missing too much and of the work you have posted, I like your denotation and connotation work. If we can further develop these connotation and analysis skills then I’m confident you will do very well in GCSE Media
.
EBI: Firstly, you need to post the final two pieces you are missing:

I appreciate that you may have these pieces of work in Word or Google Docs because of all the issues with blogs being blocked or locked so hopefully it will be easy to get this sorted. In terms of how to improve the work you have posted, you need to make sure your written analysis has enough depth and detail for GCSE standard. For example, your WaterAid post is valid but your ‘analysis’ element could explore in more detail the effect on audience and how this is achieved. Ultimately, it’s a charity advert so it wants to create feelings of sympathy or guilt and then ultimately get the audience to donate.

Learner Response:

1) What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far?

I feel like my key media concepts work is my strongest so far.

2) What is your weakest?

I personally feel like my weakest piece of work would be my water aid advert connotation and denotation as this was early and I also started the class late

3) What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

I need to learn how to analyse clips more accurately and also work on camera shots

4) How can you improve the depth and detail of your media analysis?

I need to look in detail and look into possibility of more than one view so that i can have a more broad
and more in depth view
